Samsung Keystone 2 GT-E1200T (haul and review)

I recently got myself a Samsung Keystone 2 GT-E1200T phone. No, it is not a smartphone. I bought for the convenient of speed texting. Yep! I am a hardcore texter to my friends. We are always exchanging GMs (group messages) through text/sms. As you know, I do have a smartphone and I have thought of upgrading it to a more latest one but since it's still working well, I thought for it to stay since it'll be only use for e-mails (when I am not in the computer) and for some important chat apps to connect with friends and clients. I'm a big Samsung fan not only because it is made in Korea, Samsung products are also known for their really long lasting and very good quality products.

It is not a smartphone but for a hardcore texter like I am, this is more than enough. It has long battery life which is up to 420 minutes maximum talk time and stand-by maximum time of 720 hours or 30 days (!!!!). Yup! It is proven and tested by me. It has a very very long batter life which is really great.

The actual product.
The keys are really soft to touch. It won't give you a problem when texting or dialing since with just one touch with the key, it automatically reflects on the screen, of course.

I got this phone for only 600 Pesos in eBay Philippines so I purchased it right after I saw it and it only took 3 days for it to come in my doorstep. Imagine, 600 Pesos and you have this phone that doesn't die that early even if you use it by playing games, calling all day long or even texting to your heart's content.

battery, manual, warranty card and etc.
As of this writing, I am creating a GM again for my peers and it still has 3 bars of battery and I haven't charged it since September 21, 2012 and it is now October 1, 2012. A pretty good deal, huh? Speaking of clumsiness, I also have accidentally dropped it few times already and it is still working well and no scratch (yet). I am very thankful that I have bought this phone.

Honestly, I can't really speed up my texting ability in my smartphone. It also dies early (the battery life, I mean) since it has some apps installed in it that are battery hungry.

So, what's in the box?

  • Samsung Keystone 2 GT-E1200T
  • Charger
  • battery
  • manual
  • warranty cards and some papers.

Maybe you'd like to consider a Blackberry hehehe...the qwerty keyboard speeds up texting, and it has long battery life. On normal use (meaning you don't use it as mp3 or video player and you're not using much of bluetooth or wifi)the battery lasts for 4 days on single charge. If you're heavy on calls and texts, well, 2 days isn't bad anymore right? :-)

hmmm, maybe i will try searching one in eBay, cause the way you describe it here, i am more than convince that this is the phone that suits my need as i am a heavy caller especially if i am on unlimited call. :)

I am always a Nokia user but since the Samsung pocket is cheaper than of the Nokia with the same feature, I bought the samsung, I am still trying myself to get used to it. I am not sure though but whenever somebody called me I am always a hard time hearing them. I just hope its only the signal otherwise I might go back to Nokia.

That's a great buy, Marie! In my own opinion, we don't need to own those very expensive android phones, because we already have laptops and an internet connection.for me, cellphones are only for text messaging and calls.

am not a texter so i don't know much about speed texting but i do see your need of having another cell phone for speed texting if you text a lot. will save you time.

My favorite cp brand has always been Nokia. To be honest, di ako masyado marunong gumamit ng Samsung lol But my brother owns a Galaxy S3. Yun nga lang, di ko type Lol

We've been using Samsung television sets for the longest time, and I can attest to the quality of the products. Samsung is fast becoming a leader in the mobile phone space, too. Absent the litigation suits, I won't be surprised if one of these days it outruns Apple in the smartphone category.

I used to have a phone exactly like yours and super proud of it for being texter friendly and with a battery that lives a lot longer than those of smartphones exactly why I bought it. I handed it down to a brother-in-law when I bought a smartphone for its camera application I need for easy image capturing. I bought another phone pretty much like it for around the same price but of a different brand and I think Samsung is better :-) It is great to have friends to exchange sweet messages with the whole day. Blessed day to you :-)
