Time for Kites

Hello everyone! How's your summer so far? Are you on vacation? Boracay? Palawan? Overseas, perhaps?Well, I hope you are having a grand time wherever you are. :)

Anyway, I am just at home, staying in my room because, I am sick. I originally planned to go to Boracay this April, even just for a few days with my cousin and my brother. Guess it'll be move next month then.

My youngest sister sporting her kite made by her Kuya.

Today, I woke up with a very bad headache and it automatically turn my mood into beast mode. Especially, the kids are very noisy outside. But, when I saw what makes them very busy and noisy, the beast mode was turned off automatically.

They were all (my siblings and some kids in our neighborhood) so busy making kites. Instead of being mad, I smiled. Making kites reminded me of the good old days when my late grandfather was so fond of making kites for me. I really miss him every second of my life.

So, summer is the children's time for kites. They look very happy making it fly. It's as if, life is not very complicated. Oh, how I love listening their laughter! <3 comments

We stayed here most of the summer. We had a staycation lang during the holyweek.

I like the idea of having them DIY their own kites. Last hurrah before the school start.

3 days ago lang nasa Splash Island kami. Enjoyed much ang swimming. Kites as in sarangola, ... those were the good ol' days. I can stilll vividly recall the days where I make kites for my 2 brothers and dozens of cousin. Magaling kasi akong gumawa ng 'boka-boka'.. LOL

I love playing kites especially the hand-made :-) What a perfect day to play the kite. It is fun and you remind us Sis to fly the kites too.

Your post took me back to the time when I was a kid. I was a little tomboy because my closest playmate was my boy cousin, Ramon. We made kites, climbed trees and set up a "clubhouse" in our backyard. These simple things are what the kids are missing nowadays. They need to get rid of their devices and get more REAL playtime.

I miss this time. Dati pwede pa makapagpalipad ng saranggola dito sa lugar namin now hindi na kasi puro bahay na at maraming kable.

I think I remember 5 times during my childhood days that I was flying kites with the help of my uncles. I enjoyed it and if I could have time and it wouldn't be too hot during the day, I could go outdoor and fly a kite.

Kites are like one of the symbols this summer and it's lots of fun especially when the kids are trying to fly a low-flight kite! :D

It's sometimes sad that only power interruptions can make our kids go out of the house because they're so glued to gadgets and tv.
