Seasons of Life

I was reading my old emails just now and I read a message from a friend which says he was inspired in my blog post; Through The Years and I can't help it but smile. I ask his consent if I can put his message here and he agreed.. Hope you guys enjoy this post.

You know, time has a way of moving too quickly and
catching you unaware of the passing years.

It seems only yesterday that I was young
and had high expectations.

And yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all
the years went. I know that I lived them all ... and I have glimpses of how
things were back then and of all my hopes and dreams.

But, here it is ... the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise!

How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did
my youth go?

I remember well, seeing older people through the years and
thinking that those older people were years away from me and that my winter
was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like.

But, here it is ...I'm retired now and my hair has turned white ...I move slower
and I see in me those older folks I used to see that I never thought I'd be.

I'm not in such bad shape considering the years ... but, I see the great changes and
winter is obvious upon me.

Somedays now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day!
And taking a nap is not just a treat anymore ...often times days it's
mandatory because if I don't nap on my own ... I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so, now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all
the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do all the
things I love.

But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how
long it will last, when it's over...it's over....

Yes , I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done and things
I should have done. But, there are many things I'm happy to have done. It's all
in a lifetime of living and loving.

So, if you're not in your winter yet ... let me remind you, that it
will be here faster than you ever thought possible. So, whatever you would
like to accomplish in your life think about doing it soon!

Life goes by swiftly - do what you can today, because you can never
be sure whether this is your winter or not!

You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life...so,
live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to
remember...

"Life is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to
those who come after. Make it a fantastic one."

LIVE IT WELL MY FRIEND!

So love that quote in the end. I also believe that all of us are responsible with our lives. We live the way we want it to be.

aww, such a beautiful post! I have lost my dad this year and my mom six years ago and it sure reminded me of them (plus the intense grieving). Life is indeed a circle. Our moment of glory and fading will come...

What a beautiful and inspiring message! Good or Bad, we have to see the seasons of our lives; it is from those seasons that we learn and become strong.

An inspirational poem well written. We all have our rainy and sunny days. It's the way we approach and handle them that makes us better and stronger.

What a beautiful poem and heart tugging too. This is what makes blogging a joy; when someone reminds us that they care abort our work.

Yes, our life is a gift and we should make it the best that we can possibly can.

I can sense melancholy at the middle of the poem... but reading through it all, I have begin to reflect what it would like when I past that age when on the previous years I observed the people on their retirement.

I don't want to think about it that much.

If you will know the whole from me, there are also things I wish I hadn't done and things
I should have done in the past.

All the seasons come in our lives at certain points...I guess it's best to love each, accept what it brings - life is colorful, whatever the season! :)

This moves me, I can feel it to the pit of my stomach...you know what I mean? I'm far from my winter, but somehow I can relate to how years had flitted by.

I have to say that it was a really good message. It must be overwhelming but at the same time rewarding to get such a message from a friend.

Always live in the moment, do everything that you can, because you will never know if there's another tomorrow. Let's all truly live!

It must have a deep friendship to deserve a poem like this. You're lucky to have found each other.

Time always moves forward and at an even accelerated pace when we are not looking so there are times that we get left off. Do what you have when you can because looking back at the ifs would be harder going forward.

Time is tricky that's why we need it to spend on things that we are happy about. Let's enjoy every stage in our life because it still has a lessons in it. Did he just made you a poem?

Beautiful message from your friend! One of the famous lines that resonates so well to me from the musical Rent is "no day but today". Live each day fully because time truly passes by so quickly.
